ESA ESRIN venue FRASCATI, Italy. SLAM
USER WORKSHOP
The workshop has been co-organised by ESA and the SLAM consortium.
The results of the SLAM project (Service for Landslides Monitoring)
have been presented to about 150 Italian user organisations
involved in the landslide risk management (AdB, Regions, Provinces,
Municipalities, CNR IRPIs, APAT, ARPAs, DPC).
19-20/11/2004 Lausanne,
Switzerland. 2nd
SWISS GEOSCIENCE MEETINGThe
meeting intends to stimulate interdisciplinary communication and
provide a platform for lively discussion among colleagues from the
widest possible spectrum of geosciences.
20-24/09/2004 Anchorage, Alaska. International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium
(IGARSS)
The conference theme "Science for Society: Exploring and Managing a Changing
Planet" reflects the maturation of remote sensing and the
the power of this technology to provide societal benefit through a better understanding of the natural forces and processes that sculpt our planet and through provision of critical information to decision support systems that enable sound policy and management
choices.
6-10/09/2004
Salzburg, Austria. ENVISAT
& ERS Symposium.
The event is open to all
interested parties, from scientists to operational users, and will
cover both ENVISAT and ERS missions. The Symposium will be a
opportunity for investigators to present results of on-going research
project activities, to review and assess the development of
applications and services.
20-28/08/2004 FLORENCE,
Italy. 32nd
International Geological Congress: From the Mediterranean Area Toward
a Global Geological Renaissance_Geology, Natural Hazards, and Cultural
Heritage.
The Congress is being organized
in co-operation with, and under the sponsorship of the International
Union of Geological Sciences (IUGS), and the various member
countries of the Mediterranean Consortium. It has been designed to set
up a forum for a broad debate of the most
significant advances in the geological sciences, as well as to promote
discussion of the Congress theme.
25-30/04/2004 NICE,
France. European
Geosciences Union (EGU), session NH3.04: Remote Sensing and
ground-based
It is the
1st General Assembly of the European Geosciences Union (EGU).
The European Geosciences Union (EGU), founded in 2002, is a dynamic,
innovative, and interdisciplinary learned society devoted to the
promotion of the cooperation between scientists in the framework of
the sciences of the Earth and its environment and of planetary and
space sciences.
24/02/2004
ROME, Italy. University La Sapienza of Rome, Department
of Electronic Engineering. Microrad
04: 8th Specialist Meeting on Microwave Radiometry and Remote
Sensing.
The purpose of the 8th Specialist Meeting was
to set up a common forum to report and discuss recent advances in
the specific field of microwave radiometry and remote sensing
applications to land, ocean and atmosphere.
Planetek Italia presented the own experience in different projects
regarding the land management such as SLAM project.
18/02/2004
BARI, Italy. University of Bari. Giornata
di Studio: Moderne tecniche di monitoraggio dei dissesti del suolo.
The day of study has been promoted by
the Politecnico of Bari, in aim to encourage a
multi-disciplinary comparison of the techniques actually applied to
the soil instability monitoring and the remote sensing techniques.
1-5/12/2003
Frascati, ROME, Italy. ESA-ESRIN. Fringe
2003.
The European Space Agency
organised its third ESA International Workshop on ERS SAR
Interferometry and its first Workshop on ASAR interferometry:
advances in SAR interferometry from ERS and ENVISAT missions. The
workshop was focused to present results of on-going EO research
project activities, to encourage close collaboration between
individual research groups, and to discuss the use of InSAR products
for scientific research and applications development. The poster
describing the structure of the SLAM project has been showed,
meanwhile two papers describing the InSAR techniques applied in the
Italian and Swiss service cases have been presented in the Long-term
Differential Interferometry section.
26-28/11/2003
BAVENO, Lago Maggiore, Italy. 4th
GMES Forum.
The
4th GMES Forum was organised jointly by the Ministero dell'Ambiente
e della Tutela del Territorio, the Ministero dell'Istruzione, dell
Università e della Ricerca, the European Commission and the
European Space Agency.
The 4th Forum focused on the results achieved under the Initial
Period of GMES Action Plan (2002-2003) and on the actions to be
taken to develop a European capacity for Global Monitoring of
